Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 14″ Price & Review ⚡ Best Laptop For Students? Ft. Intel

by SRKIAN

Alright friends, this is the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i. This laptop is smart, portable & is great for working professionals & students. If you want to see an all round laptop, you should definitely look at this. You’ll know why I’m saying this after watching the video. Let’s open it & it’s slim in name so it’s obviously slim & lightweight. Let’s see what else is there in the box. There’s a 65W charger & that’s about it. Let’s keep this aside & look at the laptop. It feels good & I must tell you that this video is brought to you in collaboration with Lenovo & Intel. But all the inputs & thoughts are mine. Let’s move forward. It’s a portable laptop so it’s weight is significant. It weighs 1350 grams. It’s 1470 grams. The weight distribution is good & it doesn’t look heavy.

The ports & buttons are 3.5mm jack, 2 USB Type C ports & 2 USB Type A ports. One of the USB Type A ports is active when you close the lid You can use it as a power bank. If you’re charging your phone & the lid is closed, the USB Type A will still be active. You also have a micro SD card reader. There are exhaust grills for hot air. It’s a completely aluminium build with front, back & lid. That’s about it. Where are the speaker grills? I think they’re up. It’s also durable. There are 20 different military grade 8-10H certified grills So yeah, the durability is also quite good. Let’s look at it from the inside. Let’s open the lid. It opens up to 160-170 degrees which is really nice. Generally laptops open this much & this goes all the way down. The keyboard is very decent. The key travel is very tactile.

The average size keys have good travel distance. The distance between the keys isn’t cramped. The side speaker grills are also present. So you get front facing speakers which make the sound even better. The touchpad is a decent sized touchpad. Overall, despite being portable, the keyboard & touchpad are of good size. It’s a backlit keyboard so you can see all the keys clearly in the dark. Let’s talk about the display. It has a full HD webcam with IR & Windows Hello support. There are 2 microphones so it’ll be great for video calls. There are some interesting features about it. The display is OLED. There are 2 different variants of it.

There’s an IPS LCD display & an OLED display. The brightness is 400 nits. There’s a low light certification for the display. So you won’t face any problem if you use the blue light filter in the dark. The bezels are thin & the chin isn’t too big. Generally, laptops have big bezels. This one isn’t too big as it’s portable. This is nearly an all display. Let’s talk about the specs & this is very important. It comes on 13th generation Intel processors. 13th generation Intel processors have improved a lot in terms of performance & efficiency. It has an efficiency & performance course & it’s clocked up to 5.6GHz. So the performance is a big jump compared to the previous generation. It’s a big jump. It’s the best of both worlds. When you’re doing a strenuous task & using heavy software,

it’ll be used. And to save battery life, it has an efficiency course. So both are very important. It’s the same as smartphones & now it’s in laptops too. It supports DDR4 RAM type but it also supports DDR5 RAM type which is the latest RAM type. These 13th generation Intel chipsets use hybrid technology so they’re great for multitasking. You can’t extend the RAM as it’s soldered. But the performance is already quite good because of these chipsets. We’ve run some benchmarks on the screen for performance.

And because it’s the latest 13th generation Intel core, it has cutting edge connectivity. It has WiFi 6E & Bluetooth 5.2 support. But the OLED displays are really good. Look at the colours. So if you’re preferring an important display, definitely look for OLED. If I talk about the price, the various variants start from Rs 65K. It has 16GB onboard RAM. The latest generation has an up to 1TB SSD M.2 so that’s there. It has an Iris Xe integrated graphics card. If I talk about the 14th generation, it has an Intel Arc graphics card. OS UI You get Windows 11 Pro & Windows 11 Home. It depends on the variant. You’ll get Home in the base variant & Pro in the upper variant. It has a Lenovo Dashboard which is called Lenovo Vantage. You can do a lot of things from there. You can check the warranty & if you want to do something in the warranty, you can do that. It has fast charging support. It has a 56.6Wh battery.

And Lenovo claims that if you charge it for 15 minutes with fast charging, you’ll get 2 hours of battery life. So that’s good. If I talk about battery life, you’ll get 8-9 hours of battery life with normal usage. And you get 2-3 more features in Lenovo Vantage. AI features are available everywhere. You can do subtitling, voice over etc. You’ll get all these features in Lenovo Vantage. It has Flip to Start. If you turn it off, it’ll turn off. As soon as you open the lid, it’ll open automatically. You don’t need to boot or power on or off. So that’s good. If you want to do a quick job like turning it off or saving the battery, you can do it. Otherwise, you’ll have to keep it open to save the battery. But if you do this, it’ll open & you can start working immediately. It has a feature called Zero Touch Video Playback.

If you’re watching our YouTube videos & you get a call asking where you want to go, if you go away, the video will automatically pause. Because it has a TUF sensor along with the webcam. So if you don’t want to look at the video, it’ll immediately pause. The touchpad is multifunctional. You can adjust the brightness with the touchpad. We don’t talk much about laptops & OS in bloatware. But many other brands add third party apps. Thankfully, you won’t find much in this. I’ll give 2-3 recommendations on what you should install. Apps like YouTube, Facebook, which you regularly use. You’ll get a clean UI. Other features include Microsoft Co-Pilot for AI. You get 30 days of McAfee virus protection. But the Windows Defender is good enough. But you get it free of cost. There’s a feature called Lenovo Smart Appearance for the webcam. If you’re doing a lot of video calls,

it’ll automatically change the field of view when you move. You can blur the background. Multimedia is good as it has an OLED display. You’ll enjoy the video viewing experience. And it has front-firing speakers so you can hear the sound clearly. It’s a very decent multimedia experience. So finally, for those who want a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i, I’ve told you at the start of the video, if you’re a working professional, you need a portable laptop for college. You don’t have to spend a lot of money. If your budget is around Rs 60-70K, you should definitely check it out. Especially for the portability & Intel chipsets. The performance of the 13th generation chipsets is really good. That’s what Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i is. Why do we keep such big names?
