Friends, now our office’s most expensive setup is ready! What you see here is the Mac Studio, Studio Display, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, Magic Keyboard. If I tell you the price of all these, you’ll be surprised! It’s priced above Rs 11 Lakh. But don’t just go by the price, the power in this Mac Studio is absolutely crazy! We’ll talk more about the Mac Studio, but quickly, we’ve already unboxed it as it didn’t fit in the camera. We’ve already unboxed it, but I’m going to open it in front of you. Let’s open this. Oh my goodness! It costs Rs 2,30,000 because it comes with a swivel stand. If you don’t buy a swivel stand, then the cost is about Rs 2,00,000 for this display. Oh my God, look at this! This is crazy! Let’s keep it aside & talk about this. Oops! Magic Keyboard, let’s open it quickly.
This is the Magic Keyboard, there isn’t much difference between the old one & this one. Let’s quickly show it to you. It’s a full sized Magic Keyboard. Then you have the Magic Trackpad. This is the Magic Trackpad. And then you have the Magic Mouse. Apple has still sent us the one with the Lightning port, but now there’s a USB Type C one. This one is the older variant. Let’s keep all this aside & talk about the Mac Studio. Alright! Our Head Video Editor is going to be very happy. Do you know why? Because he’s going to get this. Oh! Oh, that is heavy! Oh! Lovely! Is there anything else inside? There’s a cable, which we removed while testing. That’s what’s in the box, there’s nothing else. Let’s talk about this. This is a very powerful machine. Oh! Let’s weigh it first.
It’s quite heavy compared to the Mac Mini. 2.23KG? 2.4KG! 3.66KG! 4.75KG! Oh My God! It’s heavy! But you’re not going to move it, once you put it on your table, it’s going to be there. Let’s talk about the ports & buttons. There are 2 USB Type C ports, an SD card slot on the left. On the back, there are 4 USB Type C ports, which support Thunderbolt 5.0 & 120Gbps. There’s a Gigabit Ethernet port, a power port, 2 USB Type A ports, an HDMI port, a 3.5mm jack & a power button. It’s packed on the back. And on the top, there are air vents to keep this powerful machine cool. If you look at the lineup of Macs, there’s iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro.
And this comes on the M3 Ultra. And the M3 Ultra is basically a 2-chip set. The M3 Macs are connected to the Fusion technology, which means it has 2 CPUs & that too very powerful. We’ve run the DeepSeek R1 LLM on this locally. I think it supports 70 billion parameters & it worked well. Think about it, you can run an entire LLM on this. You can buy a machine at home, which used to work on supercomputers a few years ago. It’s doing DNA sequencing today, which means it needs a lot of power & performance. And this little machine gives that. You can do 3D renderings & simulations with ease. Ok, these are very niche things. Let’s talk about creators. Why did I say that Arjun is going to be very happy? You know, this M3 Ultra can edit 24 8K streams in ProRes.
It is mind-boggling how much power it has. If you want to do colour correction in DaVinci Resolve, you won’t even use half of its power. That is how powerful this is. Let’s talk about the variants. You know, smartphones have 256GB storage. This has 256GB RAM. And this is not the top variant. It has a variant with 512GB RAM. The price of this 256GB variant is Rs 8,40,000. But its base variant will cost Rs 4,30,000. But it also has 96GB RAM. Let’s talk about M4 Max, which I’m thinking of replacing. I’m going to replace all the powerful Windows machines in my office. With M4 Max Max Studio. Do you know how much it costs? Rs 2,15,000. And I think that is excellent. One of the biggest things is power saving. This machine takes 1 5th or 1 6th power as compared to a normal Windows machine. This takes about 160-180W. Whereas, if you look at a normal powerful machine, it takes 750W or 1000W.
We have calculated the electricity savings. If we use this for 9 hours a day for editing, it costs about Rs 280. If you use a normal powerful PC with 1000W, it costs Rs 2,200. It literally runs at 1 10th of the cost. And it gives you that much power. M4 Max is actually consumer grade. For normal consumers, buy this Rs 2,25,000 Max Studio. And consumers can do anything. Literally, you can do whatever you want. But M3 Ultra is more commercial. It’s for people like us who work a lot. It’s a very niche audience. By the way, we have made a video on MacBook Air which is based on M4. You get M4 & M4 Pro in Mac Mini. And then this one has got M4 Max & M3 Ultra. In fact, if you want to watch more videos on MacBook Air which is based on M4, that will be more than enough. And that costs Rs 70-80K. Talking about the other features, it has a built in speaker. It’s obviously not the best quality,
but if you want to listen to something, you can do that. Talking about connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 6E & Bluetooth 5.3. Obviously, when you buy this, buy a good display. Don’t buy a studio display, you can buy it if you have the money. But if you buy a good quality display for Rs 30-40K, you’ll have a perfect setup. I mean you’ll have a keyboard, mouse & a good display with a powerful machine. What we generally do is, we tell Apple not to innovate. But when it comes to their laptops, MacBooks or Mac, they have taken a giant leap & set a benchmark for the industry. Where PCs, normal Windows laptops have to catch up, they’re far ahead. That’s what I’ll definitely say. Especially after seeing the M4 & M3 Ultra’s performance, I’ll say that all the supercomputers have come to your home.
